There is some question as to whether my WTC C&O bike ride will make it into the August  Bulletin.  Because certain very relevant rooms in Little Orleans are only held without deposit until September 1, it is important to let people know as soon as possible.  Here is what would show up:

October 5-9, C&O Canal ride: Leader: Dwayne Shreve drshreve@gmail.com. (410) 392-9611  Join me for a mostly pay-as-we-go ride down the 184.5 miles of the C&O Canal to DC.   See more details at http://www.mostlymaya.com/Trips/2009wtc.html  Daily miles will be 43.7, 41.4, 41.4 and 58. We will stay inside overnight in Little Orleans, Williamsport and near Harpers Ferry. We will make a point of seeing some of the items of interest along the way.  Meet at the Holiday Inn in Cumberland at 8 PM on the fifth of October. The leader will arrive entirely with a combination of bike and mass transit shortly before that.  Because of limited rooms in Little Orleans, this trip is limited to six participants. Double occupancy in rooms and a bunk bed at the hostel near Harpers Ferry should come out to around $255 each.  A return shuttle for two or more should cost $75 each.   
 
Potential participants need to respond fairly quickly if interested, because two of the three rooms at Little Orleans are only booked tentatively until the 1st of September, when a non-refundable deposit of $25 for each room will be due.  See the web page for a breakdown of room costs and other info and don't be shy about expressing an interest.
