Five paddlers from the club (Ed, Tom, Steve, Rick, and Peter) drove out to Johnstown Pa. this weekend to paddle Stonycreek River. There they were joined by Peters son Matt, who is in college out in Pittsburgh. All had a good time paddling the Canyon section on Saturday, with exceptionally warm weather, and plenty of sun. Afterward they all went to The Stonycreek Rendezvous, where Ed enjoyed trying out a new boat on the man made wave there. Sunday they paddled it again, except for Matt who had returned to school. The weather was somewhat cooler but still very mild. and they had the river all to themselves, having put on before all the festival goers arrived at the river. Tom, Rick and Steve had never paddled this river before, and all of them agreed they were glad they did.
