We had a great weekend of paddling for those who braved the elements.
Saturday's trip consisted of leader Peter Bernstein, his son Matt Bernstein, Dave Sibeley, Ed Rohrbach, and myself, Tom Halladay. Also joining us were 2 local paddlers Matt and Barry, who had previously paddled with use during the fall Tohickon run. The weather was pretty good for a cold weather run. Low wind, and even a fair amount of sun for the second run. The paddlin was great, we had some minor swims, but we also had alot of fun playing in the waves and I know I picked up a few new trick paths thanks to Matt B.
Sunday's trip was lead by Dave, joined by Bob Swain, John Herman, his cousin Sean, and myself. We were also joined by "Chris" who was a previous Philadelphia area kayaker who now lives in Virginia. This trip was also a great trip, however the weather was a little colder, and we had 2 slightly more involved swims. I myself got stuck in Fish or Swim with my whale of a boat, and could not break free. After about 5 minutes of struggling, I opted to abandon ship, and regather on shore. Man that water was cold! Later on down the river we Bob decided that kayaking the rapids wasn't exciting enough, and practiced his rapids swimming. Thankfully we were almost done for the day at that point. The most impressive part of the day, in my opinion, was watching John Herman do his cartwheels and tricks at the lunch spot. It made me quite upset I didn't have my camera to capture it on film.
Thanks to all involved for a great weekend of kayaking! See you all on the rivers again soon!
