Hello Everyone!

I was just informed about a very important upcoming meeting about the 2009 Lehigh Release amount. The date of this meeting is Wednesday November 19th at 6 p.m. at the Ramada Inn in White Haven (0.25 miles east of 476 from exit 95). The release schedule has already been established, but this meeting is to establish the amount to be released.

It is very important that the paddlers as a whole be represented at this meeting as well as the Wilmington Trail Club. We can help be apart of a release schedule that will be best suited for every involved!

Please post here if you plan on attending this important meeting and as the date approaches we can figure out a car pool of some sort.

It's the Ramada White Haven (0.25 miles east of 476 from exit 95).  This is described as the stakeholders meeting, which is smaller than the January meeting.  For 2008 the USACE made a couple of concessions to the fishermen - they increased weekday releases, they cancelled the Mother's Day release and they made the Sept. and Oct. releases contingent on summer rainfall.  The preseason pool level was raised which helped everybody.  I understand the head count of paddlers is an important determinant of policy, so we need to go to both this and the Jaunary 21 meeting.  Most of the decisions are made before the January meeting.
