Calls requested: Governor Markell & fracking
Modified By Sheella Mierson on 11/16/2011 3:38:36 PM)

I just called Governor Markell’s office and left a message about this, and am forwarding this email to everyone I can think of who lives in Delaware. In the interest of protecting the Delaware River for paddling and for drinking water, I am posting it on this list; feel free to pass it on as well.

Cheers, Sheella

Subject: [PeacEmail] URGENT - LAST CHANCE TO HELP SAVE THE DELAWARE

Friends of Pacem in Terris,

If you haven't already done so, PLEASE take a moment to Call Governor Markell by Friday on the fracking issue.  According to the Governor's office, the majority of calls he has received have been from people not living in Delaware.  WE are the ones he will listen to before anyone from out of state. We MUST act now.  This is a crucial decision.  Please read below

Four governors, inluding our own Gov. Markell, and President Obama will ultimately decide the fate of drinking water for 15 million people on November 21st when the Delaware River Basin Commission meets in Trenton, NJ for a vote that could begin fracking in the Delaware River Basin.

Call Gov. Markell's Wilmington office 577-3210 and tell him Don't drill the Delaware, and Don't approve ANY regulations to permit fracking!  If you want to say more, tell him to oppose adoption of the proposed natural gas regulations by the DRBC and keep the moratorium in place for more studies.

If you are in Pennsylvania, call Gov. Corbett's office at 717-787-2500; in New Jersey, call Gov. Christie's office at 609-292-600.
