Event and Activity Descriptions

I have been thinking about joining an outdoors organization for some time now and have been searching the web for an ideal group. I came across your site and would like to know why I have to join first to get any kind of event or activity description. It is hard to come to any type of decision when information is being witheld. I have a family wth smaller children and one of the things I would like to know, is if there are activities/events for them also. I just think, to have a website that asks for memberships should be a little more open to an interested public.

Sure, I could and probably will contact someone to get ALL of my general questions answered, but couldn't that be one of the reasons for a website?

I just would like to know what I'm getting myself and my family into to make it an enjoyable experience for all.

Thank you for your time and the open access forum!

Re: Event and Activity Descriptions

We are happy that you are interested in sharing the outdoor experience with your children.  Our activities are summarized in the brochure that you can download from the "About Us" menu on the left of the webpage.  The hiking schedule is in "Hiking"  Public Hikes".  You are welcome to come out and try a few hikes before making any commitment.  Children are welcome on hikes, and depending on their age and strength, will have a good experience.  However, none of our hikes are designed with children (say under 12) specifically in mind. As you'll see, the shortest hikes are Thursdays and Wednesday evenings.
