-Roger, Louise, and Sharron volunteered be on this committee. Chris will provide
a historical perspective.
-Roger will coordinate an online meeting
-If not on the committee, please contribute your thoughts to them
Sharron suggests that the Equipment Manager may want to consider sale of items not in
use
Pool- Gwen: We will be using the Bubble Pool this winter for rolling sessions. We have
access to entire pool-primarily half the pool but we can request more lane room if
needed.
-There is plenty of room for both Flat Water and White Water boaters each
weekend.
-Louise envisions practicing flat water assisted and bow rescues during the winter
sessions
-Hours: 7 AM- 9:40 AM Sunday Mornings. Open sessions to begin 11.20.11
-Cost: depends on ACA/WTC/YMCA membership. $5 each if not a member-$15
session.
-Will allow 2 sessions to those without membership-all agree
-There will be an “evacuation lesson” in case of emergency at Bubble Pool-loss of
air pressure
-Gwen will send out an email to announce the start of the pool sessions, excluding
Easter, Christmas, and New Years and will run until 4.29.12
-Gwen will include in email that members should check the online WTC member
List to ensure they are listed as current members.

List. Mary will send Gwen list of 2010 students as well.
-YMCA has asked us to sign contract for pool sessions this season. Gwen will
Complete and send to them
-Discussion about selling pre-paid blocks of sessions-can get price break if you
buy more. Gwen relays that we can not do this related to the way we pay and
others agree it would be a booking nightmare.
Post meeting Addendum: WTC membership requirement will not be made of
YMCA members.
-Shannon proposed a “Train the Trainer” class on Sun 11.13.11
Steve and Dave will develop the class. Shannon will send out an email to

better inform and engage newly trained paddlers.

(Lehigh release dates are decided at the Army Corp of Engineers Meeting held in Feb.-

WW Training- Roger
-Agreement made to keep gap between training weekends
Other trips will be provided between trainings ie: Brandywine River.

having poolside demos not beneficial enough to continue.

-Will work on universal curriculum and language for instructors to follow to increase
student understanding and confidence
-Qualified Assistant Training-ACA definition is vague- May give more thought to
developing protocol around this for the 2012 training season.
Recreational Training- Wes
-There are 7 new instructors for FW-so FW training will have more flexibility in
scheduling their training –will move to warmer time of year.
-Plan to do 2 trainings for their students
-FW will continue the Safety Session with combined FW and WW but will have Rec
boat stations for wet exits-with spray skirts. May provided more support to fearful
students.
WW Trip Coordinator -Matt
-Provided first cumulative statistics of trips and pool sessions
FW Trip Coordinator- Glenn
-Provided cumulative trip statistics. Report showed a need to work on student retention
and increased trip participation. Majority of people paddled 1 time
-They will promote more trip coordinators
-May not set up table this year at Paddle Sport- (?) not enough turn out probably due to
distance to club activities/training
Matt proposed writing an article about the amount of paddling we do and promote our
training as well. Ashley will work on developing “Beautiful and Colorful” Presentation
for events to promote Club.
