Saturday May 22,  PA White Clay Creek Preserve (WCCP) and DE Clay Creek State Park, Newark DE: Leader: Gary Kirk, questions H: (302) 366-0464 or GaryKirk_3@msn.com.  An alternate long Saturday hike will occur on 5/22/2010 starting at 9:00 a.m. in WCCP parking lot #2 with a duration of 12 -14 miles.  Parking lot #2 is on the right past the PA Meeting House Nature Center and Preserve Office on Sharpless Road, a dirt road, which is just beyond the intersection of London Tract Road and Bank Road.  

(To get to this meeting place from Newark take Route 896/New London Road, north.  After crossing into PA look for Chambers Rock Road on right and continue past it to the next road on right. This is Bank Road, turn right and follow Bank Road to the bottom of a windy hill and turn right onto a dirt road in front of the Park Meeting House.  Go past the first parking lot on left and Parking lot # 2 is on the right. )   We will loop up to Vaughn trail and cross over the north end of the While Clay Creek to the east side and continue south to Hopkins Bridge Road and then back on the west side. Be prepared for at least one stream cross.  Bring water and lunch.
