Has anybody been to the PCC Open House and Gear Sale? This year it will be on July 13. People bring their used gear and sell it. Would this be a good place for our new paddlers to buy equipment? I'm not sure how used the stuff is.
PCC - Open House Information
Yes: They sell their individulal paddlers gear there, and also unload used Club boats tthat are surpluss. Right now there entire club fleat is outfitted with various sizes if the Jackson "Fun" series.
Come early for the best selection.

It is really a good deal. Lots of gear, info on boating and the PCC and boats you can try out on the Schuykill. Regarding gear most is used some is new. They also have some vendors there. Usually the lady who makes changing robes, sometimes they'lll have some boat vendors too.
For example most of you have seen the EZG Matt and I have used. I bought it new unused [still in plastic] at the PCC sale two years ago for a great price. That was a bit unusual. A club member had won it in a contest and donated it to PCC for their fund raiser.
They'll sell food too.

Where is that being held? I did not see a address or location.
It is held at their clubhouse at the Confluence of the Schuekill, and Wissahickon Creek in Philadelphia. See ther website for directions.
Fixed Dave's link up top, and here is the [GMAP Link]
As long as we aren't paddling that day, I'm definitely interested in checking it out.
