PCC Open House

The Philadelphia Canoe Club is having their open house this sunday. It is a good place to look for good deals on used boats and gear. Opens at 10:00 AM. Be there early if you want the best selections. See their web site for more info.

Re: PCC Open House

Does anyone know the best way to get there? Mapquest has me going all the way to King of Prussia to get on 76. Is there a better way???

Re: PCC Open House

Patty,

King of Prussia is way out of the way.  Go straight on route 1 north which turns into City Line Ave.  Past St. Josephs on your right and channel 6 news also on your right, before the route 76.  You want to cross over the river.  At this point what ever their street address is you should be able to find it.  They are right before a bus and trolley station. I forget the name of the road on the other side of the river.

Re: PCC Open House

As you cross the river on City Line avenue you will see a sign telling you to bear right onto a ramp for Ridge Avenue. Follow that and at the end bear right onto Ridge Ave.

In one block you will cross the Wissahickon. You turn left as soon as you cross the bridge. This will be PCC's driveway.

Actually, from where you are coming from, the KoP route is not neccessarily bad.  It is 10 miles longer, but only 2 minutes longer.  This is because you would avoid driving directly through the city, and would be on the highway the whole time.  Personally I would take the highway route if I was coming from your area.

Through the city route:

Oh yeah, and it's time to stop using MapQuest for anything...

Re: PCC Open House

Not sure where you are coming from but I second Tom's comment. I live very near the Springfield exit of the blue route. I used to always go one exit up to  Route 1 and then take it all the way to the PCC  until Ala convinced to try going the Blue Route up to 76 and back down.  It is significantly longer in mileage but it usually takes less time. Sunday morning will usually not be a problem on Route 1 but it can really back up and there are lots of lights.
