  • Meeting time is:  9:30 am at Ralph Stover State Park
  • Be ready to shuttle by 10 am
  • Please sign up by Thursday, 10/30.
  • You can sign up by 1) posting to this thread,  2) emailing me at jmkoeppe@verizon.net , or 3) calling 610-274-0844.
  • I will post a "who is signed up for this trip" by fairly early Friday (10/31) morning.
  • Right now (Sun., 10/26 - 6 pm) the weather forecast for Saturday is a high of 54 - partly cloudy, 0% chance of rain.  (We've had worse weather early in November.)

John

PS  If you cannot go Saturday but want to paddle Sunday, I believe that Peter Bernstein is leading the Sunday Tohickon trip.

Re: Tohickon - Sat., 11/1

John, are you planning on finishing in time to run a second time?  There are some of us that would like to get 4 runs in that weekend.

Re: Tohickon - Sat., 11/1

I would think we would be done in time for a second run.  Here's my thinking:

  • Obviously the time taken to get down the river depends on size of group, how crowded things are (always fairly crowded on release weekend), and whether or not anyone in the group has a swim
  • That being said, we should be on the water by around 10:30 or a bit before.  I can't see taking more that 3 or 3+ hours on the river.  I would think that would give you plenty of time for a 2nd run.

I plan to be there. My shoulder is hurting pretty badly. So, I have to think carefully about the consequences of paddling or not. Either way, I will probably be there , if nothing else, I can run shuttle.

Remember, there is no gauge on the Muddy!

The participants for the Tohickon trip are listed below.  The weather should be good:  hi of ~60 with a temp of ~50 for the actual put-in time (this per the Weather Channel forecast for Pt Pleasant)

See you there tomorrow - John

(Bob Swain is a doubtful starter due to a sore shoulder.  His condition is listed as day-to-day.)
