2010 4th of July Yough Trip

I'm taking reservations now for the 2010 4th of July Yough Trip: July 2nd-5th. This year the 4th is on a Sunday and once again the trip will be a 3 day weekend. The plan will be to camp Friday night, paddle the full river (Class III-IV) on Saturday & Sunday and then the loop on Monday or the full river for those of us who can’t get enough. Of course there is always the possibility of doing other rivers should there be enough water.

Reservations this year are $30.00 per person for the full trip, $6.00 per person for launch permits only (Sat/Sun), and $26.00 per person for camping only, non-boating or paddling other rivers besides the Yough.

Ed said it best…No reservations are complete until the deposit has been received.  In addition please let me know who you plan to be camping, and carpooling with.

If you have any questions give me a call at 302-379-3294 or e-mail SaraSchock@yahoo.com

Send deposits to Sara Schock, 2202 Alister Dr, Wilmington, DE 19808.
Once again I’m looking forward to more 4th of July schenanigans…

Re: 2010 4th of July Yough Trip

Hi Sara,

I'm coming down that weekend, but won't be camping at the usual campground due to some completely unfounded "disorderly conduct" charges last year.  :)

Can you tell me what time your permits are so that I can boat with you guys?  I'll get my own so you don't have to do anything.  I believe Gwen will be coming down and using an inflatable of some kind- shredder or ducky.  Hopefully you're ok with a shredder in the group?

Thanks!

Shannon

Re: 2010 4th of July Yough Trip

Uh, hey, me too!

Sara, I think i told you i wanted to come, but never followed through.  I think I can stay with Shannon and the lawbreakers, but would like to shred with Gwen on day one, at least, and maybe try my boat on day two if I can get up the courage.  I think Shannon just offered to get my permits too, right shannon?

:)

Re: 2010 4th of July Yough Trip

Just to add to all the options for this trip, there are also good intermediate rivers in the area. I may be interested in paddling the Casselman one day if it's running. Plus the whole area is beautiful and has lots of opportunities for hiking, biking, etc. So many choices!

Thought I would chime in...

Shannon, I sent you a text but never heard back from you.  I've got 2 hard boat permits and they have your and Susan's name on them...

The trip is full (both camping and permits) as of now.  The camping is as follows:

Dave & Mary - Site 83 (pemits for 2 days) site is registered under Dave

Wendy & Nate - Site 81 (pemits for 2 days) site is registered under Ed

Ed - Site 82 (pemits for 2 days) site is registered under Bern

Bern & I - Site 82 (pemits for 2 days) site is registered under Bern

Andy - Site 83 (unless this is the site that you totally despise & pemits for 2 days) site is registered under Dave

Bob (pemits for 2 days)

Shannon (pemits for 2 days)

All permits are for the 9-10am slot...

Hope this is ok:)

Re: 2010 4th of July Yough Trip

Sara,

I will use a hard boat permit Saturday... Susan can use it on Sunday, since she will probably be paddling in her boat after she checks out the Yough via shredder Saturday.

Susan, you or Gwen need to get a soft boat permit for Saturday.  Here's the website:

http://www.pa.reserveworld.com/SelectCampArea.aspx?PK_ID=6211

you want to choose whitewater inflatable boating for the reservation.

That would leave one more hard boat permit available for both days.  I think Janice was potentially looking for a permit as well... did she contact you?  Also, not sure if Steve is planning to do the LY or UY???

Thanks!

Shannon

Re: 2010 4th of July Yough Trip

I may be interested.  I saw that fir 85 (Andy's favorite) and fir 87 sites are available.  I have to see if I can get a sitter for my dog.  Hopefully, will know tonight.  Will let you know tomorrow.

Janice
