Turner's Creek to Lloyd's Creek on the Sassafras (the lotuses are in bloom!)
This would be a nice, easy, leisurely slacker paddle for photography, wildlife viewing, water fights, etc. Best around high tide (ride the Lloyd's Creek water slide!), which is 1:01 pm (at Betterton).... meet at Turner's Creek Landing Park around 10:30 and get under way around 11:00. Paddle up Turner's Creek until we get tired of fighting the plants, then out to the river, head west, and stop for lunch on the beach. On to Lloyd's Creek (or maybe even further), then back and stop on the beach for a swim (going to be hot that time of day). Then return to Turner's Creek probably around 3:00 or 4:00. Up-tide most of the way, but you can't have everything. Bring lunch, swimming clothes (or be prepared to skinny-dip), cameras (pref. in dry bags since you are also bringing a water gun!)
Sprinters may indulge their sprinting fetish by racing to Ordinary Point or Betterton or someplace while the rest of us are swimming.
A bounty will be paid for any water chestnut seeds removed from the environment.
This will be both the put-in and the take-out. A port-a-pot is available; not sure about the real restrooms/running water.

Anybody needing directions from anywhere else, please email Greg greenfire@mad.scientist.com
I will monitor VHF weather and NWS radar before/during the trip to the extent possible. Most of the Sassafras R. leg is beach/trees, so it provides a safe stopping place in thunderstorms.
There is a large, newly opened outdoor (and package) store at 213/298 where Vonnie's was . Haven't checked it out but will try to get in there soon.
Please contact Greg greenfire@mad.scientist.com if you are planning to join him at Turner's Creek.
