River 3 this year will be a guided trip on the White Haven to Rockport section of the Lehigh, on Saturday June 21. The purpose is to help River 2 graduates build their skills on this section of river, paddled most often through the summer. (Most of you just did it on Day 2 of River 2.) We will have a long day of practicing ferries, eddy turns, peelouts, surfing and river reading. The sessions are limited to five students each. You will need to sign a waiver as with any ordinary WTC trip. So far we have an 8 AM trip led by Dave (that's right, meet at the put in at 8 AM), and a 9 AM trip led by Janice. It's first registered first served so email Dave at dcsibley@comcast.net or Janice at whitewaterpaddler@yahoo.com depending on which trip you want. If we have the need there may be another session the same day. If you want to go on another day contact one of your instructors and talk them into leading a River 3 on another day! Janice may still be looking for another coach so if you want to do that contact her.
I would highly recommend this for people who did River 2 and enjoyed it. The White Haven - Rockport section is fantastic practice, and one of the most adventurous Class II paddling sections in the area.
