Everyone,
Good news! There will be a trip to the Yough on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10. This is a good time of year for first time paddlers to do the Yough. The water is low (usually) and the weather is warm. If you want to bring a family member and they don't paddle, they can hike and/or bike all around the area.
If anyone would like to lead a trip down the more serene middle section of the Yough, it would allow other paddlers to enjoy the beauty of this river. Please post your interest in leading and hopefully others will join in the trip.
I have reserved 3 sites; Fir 83 (under William Wittig), 84 (under Ed Rohrbach) and 87(under Andris Suna) for two nights. The average cost of each campsites is $42.00 for two nights plus $8.00 for the second car to park. This brings the total to $50.00 per site for the two nights. Launch permits are 10 permits at 10:00 am on Saturday and 5 permits at 9:00 am on Sunday. They are $3.00 each. I will be canceling any unused sites by August 1st so send me your money pronto.
Park rules per site are 2 tents; 5 people and 2 cars. No exceptions!
I am asking for a check in the amount of $31.00 for two nights of camping and for two permits if you are paddling on Saturday and Sunday. If you are only paddling Saturday, then it would be $28.00.
Send check to Janice M Fiore; 119 Railroad Avenue; Swedesboro, NJ 08085
Diane and I are going up on Thursday to paddle Friday also. I only made reservations for one site (Fir 86) for three nights. If you want to paddle on Friday and join us (no launch permits needed), you can call and add an additional night to one the sites. Call 1-888-PA-PARKS. You may need the name of the person I used to reserve the site if you call. Please, let me know if you do this so I can plan the sites accordingly.
