Hiking
Saturday hikes - All day, usually 10 to 15 miles: for example, a section of the Mason-Dixon Trail in Maryland or Delaware, Brandywine Creek State Park in Delaware or Elk Neck State Park in Maryland.
Short hikes on Saturday ( SOS ) - 5 to 8 miles in Delaware or nearby areas of Maryland & Pennsylvania, for example, White Clay Creek State Park or the Ashland Nature Center.
Sunday hikes - Half day, 5 to 8 miles: for example, French Creek State Park in Pennsylvania.
Wednesday day hikes - 2 choices
Midweek Hikes on Wednesday - 8 to 10 miles, starting at 9 a.m.: for example, Brandywine Creek State Park, Fair Hill or others.
Milers Hikes on Wednesday - 13-15 miles, starting at 9 a.m.: for example White Clay Creek State Park, Middle Run or others.
Wednesday evening hikes - 3 to 5 miles, starting at 6 p.m. from April through October, often followed by supper at a local restaurant: For example, a Wilmington city hike, Newark, Newcastle, etc. In the winter, November through March, twice a month starting at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday hikes - 3 to 5 miles, starting at about 9:30 a.m. near Wilmington.
Holiday hikes - length of hike determined by leader. Hikes are held when a Holiday falls on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday: for example, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day & Black Friday.
Weekend Backpacking
Weekend trips from April through October to picturesque mountain areas in State and National Parks. Most trips are moderately strenuous and will vary in length from 5 to 10 miles per day. Backpackers must be in good physical condition. Trips have been to Massanutten Mountain, VA, Shenandoah National Park, VA and the Appalachian Trail, PA.
Weekend Hiking
From May to November weekend hiking trips are scheduled with over-night accommodations at local B&B's and Lodges. Places visited have been: Hickory Run State Park, World's End State Park, Chincoteague VA, Promised Land State Park, and Susquehannock State Park.
