The Delaware department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control are initiating the White Clay Creek State Park Master Plan process.
The DNREC Secretary, Shawn Garvin, will be holding a kickoff event and the public is invited to attend. DNREC have provided the following information.
The kickoff event will be held May 21, 2018 at 7:00pm at Deerfield (507 Thompson Station Road, Newark, DE 19711). The kickoff event will announce the launch of the Master Plan process and include some questions from the audience. We expect the event to last about 30 minutes and is open to the public. Please extend this invitation to colleagues who may be interested.
Additionally, we are scheduling four open houses to gather public interest and ideas before creating a draft of the Master Plan. The public is encouraged to attend one or all of these open houses:
Open House 1 - Natural Resources and Interpretation - June 25, 2018*
For input on topics such as habitat, farming, ponds/streams, historical and natural programming
Open House 2 - Buildings/Infrastructure - July 10, 2018*
For input on topics such as the Nature Center, Office, use of buildings, current/future concessionaires
Open House 3 - Roads and Trails - August 1, 2018*
For input on topics such as roads, trails, and connectivity
Open House 4 - Recreation - August 20, 2018*
For input on topics such as activities, golfing, visiting historic sites, events, fishing
All open houses are tentatively scheduled from 4pm-7pm at Deerfield, 507 Thompson Station Road, Newark, DE 19711. *Unforeseen circumstances could change the date, time, or location. Please make sure to check the statewide meetings calendar before you set out to attend a session.
