My daughter is home for spring break and asked to take a hike, but not just "around somewhere" - she wants to hike up a mountaing or at least something that feels like a mountain.  That's not my usual hiking routine so I'm looking for suggestions for good spots for a 5-20 mile hike..  Preference is definitely for something not too far from Wilmington, but willing to go an hour or 2 if necessary.  I'd also really appreciate quick responses as we're hoping to go tomorrow (March 16.)  But, I'll also appreciate responses after tomorrow as I'll catalog them for the future.  Thanks very much,  Tim

I know this is late but for future reference, Harpers Ferry West Virginia is only about 2 hours away and has some great trails up mountains. These include the Maryland Heights trail, the Loudoun Heights trail, parts of the Appalachian Trail into Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia as well as the flat C&O Canal towpath. The town of Harpers Ferry is a great scenic stop after a hike up any of these trails.
